Electrical contractor in Bel Air and Brentwood.
The estates of Bel Air, Holmby Hills and the Brentwood hills are City of Los Angeles, LADWP service, hillside ordinance, very high fire hazard zone, and some of the most demanding custom construction in the country. County Line Electric works there for builders and owners who want the electrical done by people who have done it before.

What is different here
Estate scale, canyon lots, and the fire zone on three sides.
Bel Air, Holmby Hills and the Brentwood hills are neighborhoods of the City of Los Angeles: LADWP power, Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety permits, and the Baseline Hillside Ordinance governing what goes on the canyon lots. Nearly all of Bel Air and the hillside parts of Brentwood sit in the city's very high fire hazard severity zone; the 2025 Palisades Fire burned to the western edge of Brentwood and the 2019 Getty Fire burned through Brentwood itself. Standby power, hardened exterior equipment and a plan for shutoffs are no longer optional on a house here.
The houses are estates: main house, guest house, staff quarters, pool, tennis court, gates, extensive landscape lighting, a theater, Lutron control throughout and an automation system holding it together. County Line is the electrical sub on that kind of build for Westside general contractors, and installs the generators, lighting control and automation in existing estates. The office in Newbury Park is about fifty minutes away.

EVNew construction
The Brentwood benchmark.
The Westside has electrical contractors who specialize in custom-home construction, and the good ones are the standard County Line measures itself against. What County Line brings is thirty years of doing exactly this work, a crew that stays on the job from temporary power to the final, Lutron and automation installed by the same electricians who roughed in the house, and an owner who answers the phone. New construction in Brentwood and Lutron in Beverly Hills and Bel Air go further.

Bel Air and Brentwood questions
Who provides electricity in Bel Air and Brentwood?
The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Bel Air, Holmby Hills and Brentwood are neighborhoods of the City of Los Angeles, so electric service is LADWP and electrical permits come from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety, with the hillside ordinance applying to the canyon lots. County Line Electric files with both.
Does County Line Electric work on custom homes in Bel Air?
Yes. County Line Electric works as the electrical subcontractor to general contractors on estate new construction and major remodels in Bel Air, Holmby Hills and Brentwood, carrying the electrical from temporary power through the final, with Lutron lighting control, standby generators and the automation backbone installed by the same crew.
Does County Line Electric install generators in Brentwood?
Yes. County Line Electric installs and services Generac standby generators in Brentwood and Bel Air, sized from a load calculation for estates with guest houses, pool equipment and gates, with the LADBS permit and twice-yearly service.
The hillside ordinance
What the canyon lots do to the electrical plan.
The City of Los Angeles Baseline Hillside Ordinance limits how much house goes on a sloped lot and shapes where the garage, the pool and the equipment yard can sit, which in turn decides where the service lands, where the generator and the dimming panel room go, and how long the conduit runs to the gate and the pool are. County Line has built on those lots and plans the electrical around the ordinance from the start, so the equipment is not relocated after the city reviews the site plan. On the canyon lots that burned or nearly burned in 2019 and 2025, exterior equipment is also placed and protected with ember exposure in mind.
The first call
What County Line asks about your project.
The first conversation is short and specific. Which city and, if it is a hillside or a canyon lot, roughly where. What the house has today: the size of the service, whether there is natural gas, whether there is a generator, a Lutron system or an existing automation head end. What you want to be true in six months. Whether there is a builder, an architect, a designer or an integrator already involved, because County Line works with all of them and would rather meet them at the start than at trim. And when the work has to be done, because the honest answer to a question about schedule is the one that decides whether the company is the right fit.
From that call comes a site visit, and from the site visit a written proposal with inclusions and exclusions listed. No number is quoted on the phone, because a number quoted on the phone is a guess, and a guess is what change orders are made of.
